Malaysia Airlines introduces new payment method to purchase tickets

Malaysia Airlines announced the launch of MHPay, a new alternative payment method for consumers purchasing air tickets, ancillary products, and services through malaysiaairlines.com.

MHPay is intended to supplement the airline’s entire suite of digitalised payment methods, with the goal of improving the customer experience by providing greater access to all payment options via a single integration point.

MHPay, developed in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and powered by 2C2P, the full-suite payments platform, provides Malaysia Airlines customers with a seamless and secure method of making online payments. Malaysia Airlines was the first airline in Southeast Asia to adopt IATAPay, and the alternative payment method has been successfully implemented.

Customers in India will be able to use MHPay through their preferred online bank in the first phase, benefiting from more convenient and secure digital payment solutions as it offers a real-time payment option that uses UPI rails with more than 90 percent of retailing banks in the respective market and supports account-to-account payments without the use of a credit or debit card at no service fee charge.

Furthermore, MHPay provides a cost-effective payment alternative with a quick transaction time of less than a minute for end-to-end flow, depending on connectivity, and has proven to lower payment fraud cases to further enhance payment security, which is a high priority for airlines.
