China’s Wang Yi in Kabul

Wang Yi’s surprise Kabul visit took place amid mounting outrage over Taliban decision to shut girls schools…reports Asian Lite News

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi landed in Kabul on Thursday after he attended a two day meeting of organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Pakistan.

Wang Yi’s surprise Kabul visit took place amid mounting outrage over Taliban decision to shut girls schools, NDTV reported.

China’s Wang Yi is the one of the high level visitors to Kabul since Taliban take over.

According to NDTV reports, China is hosting a meeting of Afghan neighbours as the Taliban regime has continously failed to achieve international recognition.

During his visit to Pakistan, Wang Yi has met Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed relations between the two neighbouring countries.

China took part in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting here though it is not a part of the group.

During the meeting between the two friendly nations, Bajwa praised and expressed support for China’s foreign policy, saying Beijing has pursued a balanced and steady foreign policy, while being committed to world peace and development and fulfilled its role as a responsible major country in international hotspot areas.
