Punjab Suspends Collection Charges

Punjab Public Works Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Friday said the state has suspended collection of toll at all 23 toll plazas in the northern state till the end of the nationwide lockdown imposed to control the spread of coronavirus.

Since the curfew has come into force, only emergency vehicles are plying on the roads that are required to move speedily and without any hindrance, he said.

The minister said PWD resthouses have been handed over to the Health Department for use as isolation centres.
