Presented by the UK’s ace cultural organisation GA MA BHA NA, the third-generation young talented vocalist Abhed Abhisheki will make his vocal singing debut at Coventry in the UK on 5th July, followed by his abhang concert at the prestigious globally watched Rukimini Vitahal ‘wari’ Samoraha (annual pilgrimage of the varkari sect).
This ‘wari’ is a historic first: a spiritually charged 70-day Dindi (pilgrimage procession) that began its transcontinental journey from Pandharpur on April 15, carrying the symbolic Padukas (holy footprints) of Lord Vitthal across 18,000 kilometers and 22 countries, en route to London. Though the sacred Padukas could be flown, the journey will be undertaken mainly on foot and by vehicle, involving lakhs of devotees, as a tribute to the traditional Wari spirit. The Rukmini Vithal Samoraha where Abhed will perform will bring Pandharpur’s divine energy to the UK for the planned construction of a Shri Vitthal-Rukmini temple in London. This wari will pass through India, Nepal, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany, and France before reaching London on June 21, where it will conclude with rituals at the proposed temple site.
