Lt Gen R P Singh Reviews Security Situation In J&K

Chandigarh: Lt Gen RP Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Western Command, during his visit to the forward posts of ‘Tripeak Brigade’ to review the operational preparedness along Northern Borders, on June 8, 2020. Army’s Western Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Lt General R.P. Singh on Saturday reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness of forces deployed in forward areas in Jammu division.

“The Army Commander visited Basoli, Bakloh and Mamun military stations, accompanied by Lt General Upendra Dwivedi, GOC of the Rising Star Corps, and reviewed the operational preparedness in the forward areas and interacted with the field formation commanders,” a defence statement said.

“The Army Commander boosted the morale of the troops on the ground and was confident about the preparedness of the Rising Star Corps to thwart any threat posed by our adversaries and anti-national elements.”

Lt Gen Singh also exhorted all ranks to continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm.

“Mrs Alka Singh, Regional President Army Wives Welfare Association, Western Command headquarters, also accompanied the Army Commander. She interacted with the families of soldiers and praised them for their strong support and contribution to fight COVID-19 pandemic.”
