Modi, Macron to Lead AI Action Summit Today

Focus on Innovation, Ethical AI Development, and Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit today alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, bringing together global leaders and top tech CEOs to discuss the future of artificial intelligence (AI) with a focus on innovation and ethical development.

PM Modi arrived in Paris on Monday, receiving a warm welcome from President Macron at Orly Airport before attending a high-level dinner at the Elysee Palace. The dinner was attended by prominent dignitaries, including US Vice President JD Vance.

Beyond the summit, PM Modi and President Macron will hold bilateral discussions, addressing economic collaboration, technology partnerships, and strategic initiatives. The leaders will also participate in the India-France CEOs Forum and delegation-level talks.

Key Engagements in Marseille

On Wednesday, PM Modi and President Macron will travel to Marseille to inaugurate India’s first Consulate in France. The move aims to enhance services for the growing Indian diaspora in the southern region, including cities like Toulouse, Nice, and Lyon.

PM Modi will also pay tribute to Indian soldiers at the Mazargues War Cemetery, commemorating their sacrifices during the World Wars. Additionally, the leaders will visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in Cadarache, a landmark fusion energy project where India is a key consortium member.

“The AI Action Summit will pave the way for innovation and ethical AI development, strengthening global collaboration in technology.”

Strengthening India-France Partnership

Marking the 25th anniversary of their strategic partnership, India and France continue to collaborate in sectors such as defence, security, civilian nuclear energy, space, trade, and commerce. In recent years, their cooperation has expanded to include maritime security, innovation, counterterrorism, renewable energy, and development initiatives.

PM Modi’s visit is expected to bolster this relationship further, positioning India as a key player in AI, energy, and technology on the global stage.

Following his engagements in France, PM Modi will travel to the United States for a two-day visit to strengthen India-US relations.
