Young climate activist Licypriya Kangujam has called on the government to enact a comprehensive climate change law to combat environmental degradation and reverse the harmful effects of global warming. Speaking at the panel discussion Unified Pathways for a Greener Future on the third day of the Summit of Future, organized by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), the 13-year-old founder of The Child Movement highlighted the urgent need for decisive action.

“We urgently need a climate change law,” Kangujam stated passionately. She emphasized the importance of environmental education and suggested that schools require students to plant at least ten trees as part of their curriculum. Additionally, she urged the government to ban all mining activities and impose hefty fines for environmental destruction.
