Sharjah to Welcome Animation Giants for SAC 2025

SAC 2025 will feature 72 renowned international speakers, offering 26 specialised workshops, 21 panel discussions, exclusive film screenings, and exhibitions

The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is set to host the third edition of the Sharjah Animation Conference (SAC 2025), an international event designed to bring together industry giants, creative talents, and aspiring innovators to shape the future of animation.

Scheduled to take place at Expo Centre Sharjah from 1st to 4th May, SAC 2025 will be a four-day conference packed with the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies, and exciting opportunities in the world of animation. Organised in collaboration with Italy’s Bergamo Animation Days (BAD), the event promises to be a game-changer for the future of animated storytelling.

SAC 2025 will feature 72 renowned international speakers, offering 26 specialised workshops, 21 panel discussions, exclusive film screenings, and exhibitions. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with celebrated directors, illustrators from leading global studios, and award-winning artists, fostering a unique platform for collaboration and creative exchange.

Khoula Al Mujaini, Executive Director of SAC, emphasized that this year’s edition will serve as a global platform for the animation industry. The event aims to bring together leading experts to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and discuss the evolving trends in animation.
She further highlighted the strategic timing of SAC 2025, coinciding with the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival. This creates a valuable opportunity for publishers and authors to collaborate with animation creators, allowing literary works to be transformed into compelling visual content for wider audiences.

Al Mujaini also spoke about the power of animation as a universal language that transcends cultures, generations, and borders. She noted that the industry has produced iconic works that remain deeply embedded in the memory of audiences around the world, showcasing animation’s remarkable ability to craft stories that resonate across diverse backgrounds.

Through SAC 2025, the SBA aims to celebrate the art of animation, inspire the next generation of creatives, and provide a dynamic space where industry leaders can connect, collaborate, and push the boundaries of storytelling. With Sharjah’s growing prominence as a global hub for visual arts, SAC 2025 is set to reinforce the city’s position as a destination for animation talent and innovation.
