Rajasthan Association Manchester celebrated Gangaur with pomp and fanfare 

The Rajasthan Association Manchester (RAM), hosted a grand celebration of “Manchester Gangaur 2025” at the Gita Bhawan temple, Manchester. Rahul Laud reports

Gangaur is one of the most vibrant and cherished festivals of Rajasthan, celebrating devotion, tradition, and togetherness. This event was a wonderful opportunity for all gathered to experience the rich and royal culture of Rajasthan, indulge in authentic Rajasthani cuisine like Dal Baati Churma, and enjoy the mesmerizing Ghoomar dance and other traditional festivities performed by local Rajasthani residents.

The RAM Community organizes events year-round and provides an opportunity for people to share and explore their rich culture. Their major yearly program includes Rajasthani Milan along with Manchester Gangaur, Rajasthan Diwas, Indian Independence Day, Holi, Cricket etc.

Last year, they had the honour of welcoming 200 families, and this year a larger gathering of more Rajasthani families participated from across the UK. This year’s Gangaur celebration was not only about cultural festivities but was also about building bonds, expanding networks (personal & professional), and strengthening shared heritage.

Organisers Sandeep Jaiswal at Rajasthan Association Manchester and Anand Tanwar were delighted with the ed huge response from different communities in Manchester. 

Labour councillor Vimal Choksi attended to support this community initiative and assured continued support.
