During the ongoing Aero India 2025, India’s Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh engaged with representatives from prominent companies such as GE Aerospace, Safran, Leonardo S.p.A., Dassault Aviation, and BAE Systems.
Bengaluru played host to a series of high-level discussions as Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met with delegations from leading aerospace and defence companies during the ongoing Aero India 2025. The event, recognised as India’s premier aerospace and defence exhibition, provided a platform for fostering strategic collaborations and exploring opportunities in advanced technologies.
In a packed schedule, Singh engaged with representatives from prominent companies such as GE Aerospace, Safran, Leonardo S.p.A., Dassault Aviation, and BAE Systems. These discussions centred on strengthening strategic partnerships, advancing technology transfer, and exploring future innovations in the defence and aerospace sectors.
The Ministry of Defence, through a series of updates on X, highlighted Singh’s efforts to bolster international collaborations. “Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh today met delegations from GE Aerospace and Safran in Bengaluru. The meetings focused on advancing aerospace collaboration, strengthening strategic partnerships, and enhancing defence technology cooperation,” read one of the posts.
The 15th edition of Aero India, held from February 10 to 14, brings together global aerospace leaders, defence officials, and the public.
Another post detailed Singh’s engagement with Leonardo S.p.A. and Dassault Aviation, underscoring efforts to deepen defence collaborations, facilitate technology transfers, and identify opportunities in aerospace and security.
The discussions extended to BAE Systems, a leading British aerospace company, where the focus was on innovation and future partnerships in aerospace technologies and defence capabilities.
In addition to industry leaders, Singh also held bilateral meetings with international defence officials from countries including Nepal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the Maldives. These dialogues aimed at reviewing existing defence cooperation and exploring avenues for strengthening ties.
During a meeting with Dr Mohammed AlKahtani, Chief Technology Officer of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), discussions revolved around enhancing defence industry collaboration. Similarly, Singh’s engagement with Nepal Defence Secretary Rameshwar Dangal reviewed a wide range of bilateral defence initiatives.
Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth also held key discussions, including with Deputy Defence Minister of South Africa, Maj Gen (Retd) Bantubonke Harrington Holomisa, and Minister of State for Defence of the Maldives, Muaz Haleem.
On Tuesday, Singh expanded his diplomatic outreach, meeting defence officials from Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Mongolia, Mauritius, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These meetings reviewed ongoing defence cooperation and sought ways to bolster industrial collaboration in the sector.
Notably, Singh also conferred with Lt Gen Gael Diaz de Tuesta, Director of the International Directorate of France’s Directorate General of Armament, to discuss joint defence projects and industrial partnerships.
The 15th edition of Aero India, held from February 10 to 14, brings together global aerospace leaders, defence officials, and the public. While the first three days are dedicated to business engagements, the final two days are open to the public, offering a spectacular display of aviation and defence capabilities.
Aero India 2025 continues to showcase India’s growing prominence in the global defence and aerospace landscape, facilitating a platform for innovation, collaboration, and strategic growth.
