Fans of the Wicked franchise have a reason to celebrate as Universal Pictures officially revealed the title of the sequel to the blockbuster musical adaptation. The second installment will be called Wicked: For Good, marking a significant milestone in the journey of this much-loved saga.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film is set to enchant audiences when it hits theaters on November 21, 2025. Starring Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, the sequel promises to delve deeper into the story of these iconic characters.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the franchise reimagines the world of The Wizard of Oz, offering fans a fresh perspective on the lives of its central figures before Dorothy’s arrival in Oz. The title, For Good, is inspired by the emotional duet performed by Glinda and Elphaba in the Broadway musical, composed by the legendary Stephen Schwartz.

Joining Grande and Erivo is an impressive ensemble cast, including Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, further fueling anticipation for the upcoming film.

Wicked: For Good follows the success of the original film adaptation, which captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. With its stellar cast, captivating storyline, and iconic music, the sequel is expected to be a cinematic event fans won’t want to miss.
