In a significant stride towards promoting Indian education to international students and reaffirming India’s status as a global education hub, the Education Ministry introduced the Study In India (SII) portal. The inauguration of this comprehensive platform took place in New Delhi, with Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar jointly unveiling it.

The SII portal, designed as a one-stop destination, aims to streamline the academic journey of foreign students in India. Its user-friendly interface will simplify various aspects of studying in India for international scholars.

To mark the occasion, students hailing from diverse countries such as Russia, Thailand, Japan, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Korea, who are presently pursuing education in India, expressed their appreciation by presenting cultural souvenirs to the dignitaries. This gesture exemplified the spirit of international camaraderie and respect fostered by the initiative.

The portal will provide comprehensive information about Indian Higher Education Institutions and also present information about academic facilities, research support, and related information. It will also provide an integrated one-stop solution for the student registration and visa application processes. The Study in India (SII) Portal will illustrate academic programmes covering but not limited to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral-level programmes as well as courses in Indian Knowledge systems like Yoga, Ayurveda, classical arts, etc.
