The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday dissolved its Himachal Pradesh working committee after some more of its leaders from, including its woman wing chief, joined the BJP.

After AAP Himachal Pradesh President Anup Kesari joined the BJP last week, the head of the AAP’s women wing in the state, Mamata Thakur, along with other leaders, joined the BJP on Monday.

Senior AAP leader and Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain announced the party’s decision, saying the new state working committee for poll-bound bound Himachal Pradesh will be “reorganised soon”.

“Himachal Pradesh’s Aam Aadmi Party state working committee has been dissolved. The new state working committee will be reorganised soon,” Jain tweeted announcing the party’s decision on the microblogging site.

Thakur joined the saffron party at its headquarters here in the presence of Union Ministers Anurag Thakur, Meenakshi Lekhi, Party National General Secretary Arun Singh and Media Department co-head Sanjay Mayukh.

Along with Thakur, the Vice President of the state’s AAP women wing Sonia Bindal, State President of AAP industry wing, D.K. Tyagi and State Vice President of Social Media, Aashish Kumar also joined the BJP on Monday.

Meanwhile, taking a dig at the AAP, Anurag Thakur said that Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will find it difficult to save his party’s organisation in Himachal Pradesh after Anup Kesari and others joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP President J.P. Nadda last week.

Seeking to downplay the defections from its state unit, the AAP had then said that it was going to sack them, claiming that all the three leaders joining the BJP were “tainted” and there was allegation against Mr Kesari of indecent behaviour with women.

Kesari lashed out at the AAP leadership for indulging in “character assassination” and alleged they were “fake nationalists” and full of arrogance.

He and Mamata Thakur accused the AAP of ignoring party members in the state, and lauded the BJP for its programmes, it was reported.
