Hindu Forum of Europe Celebrates Virtual Diwali

Hindu Forum of Europe (HFE) has celebrated virtual Diwali event recently which has included a constellation of speakers and presenters including religious leaders, hosted by Simran Ahuja and Varsha Mistry.

The program began with playing a dance video Shri Vighnarajam Bhaje, followed by a warm welcome rendered by Dr. Lakshmi Vyas, President of HFE. Ambassador Santosh Jha of Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union gave the inaugural address, addressing diaspora and friends of India in Europe, has lauded the efforts and commitment of HFE and expressed support to HFE further.

Messages on the occasion, both in attendance and through video, included those from eminent speakers such as Nitin Palan MBE- Patron of HFE, Ravindar Kaur Nijjar, Olivia Fucs, Dr. Harsha Jani, Yael Lempert-Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in London, Varsha Dodhia, His Eminence Cardinal Miguel MCCJ- President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Dr. Vincent Depaign from European Commission, Sister Jayanti of Brahma Kumaris, Dr. Husna, Rev. Cynthia of Church of England, and Marie Mandakini from Sweden.

The lighting of diyas by attendees from across the world lightened up everyone’s spirits. Video message from Hon. Prime Minister of the UK Hon. Boris Johnson was followed by a classical dance by Ragasudha Vinjamuri, followed by further messages from Gianluca Troinca from Italy, scholarly, interesting and interactive keynote address on ‘Unity and Diversity’ by Dr. Ramesh Pattni OBE of Chinmayananda Mission, Amarjeet Singh Bhamra of APPG Indian Traditional Sciences, Trupti Patel of Hindu Forum of Britain, Kesh Morjaria, Kamala Shekar, and others.
