The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the 11th year of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s tenure in the state on Tuesday. BJP came out victorious in the last three assembly elections defeating the opposition parties convincingly all the times.

The BJP units organised programmes to celebrate the occasion, a release said.

Madhya Pradesh BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, taking a dig at the Congress, said: “During the days of Congress, homes used to remain dark even during Diwali. But on Tuesday, 50,000 villages of the state are gleaming.”

Meanwhile, the opposition — Congress, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s tenure as a “tenure of scams”.

Madhya Pradesh Congress President Arun Yadav called the state’s ruling dispensation “a government of 132 scams”.

“In Chief Minister Chouhan’s tenure of 132 months, i.e., 11 years. A scam has happened every month,” he told IANS.

The AAP called the tenure a period of bad governance and corruption while CPI-M said “records of corruption” have been set in the last 11 years.
