Dubai Cares, a global philanthropic organisation that aims to provide children in developing countries with access to quality primary education through the design and funding of integrated programmes that are impactful, sustainable and scalable, will celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2015, underscoring girls’ education as a key factor in progress and development among individuals, families, communities and nations.
Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares, said ensuring women and girl’s education is everyone’s responsibility.
“It is an unfortunate fact that in many of the countries we work in, girls’ access to education is extremely limited when compared to boys,” he added. “Whilst we are constantly showcasing how education can change girls’ lives and give them bigger control of their futures, we also educate communities and boys about the importance of education for all, thus making them strong advocates for women’s education in the long run. International Women’s Day reinforces the need for the community as a whole to be accountable for girls’ education, guaranteeing that girls everywhere grow up with the same opportunities that boys have.”
Dubai Cares works in developing countries around the globe to increase children’s access to quality primary education. It implements integrated programmes that eliminate the underlying obstacles that prevent children from going to school and learning.
